New Online Web Nursery provided by Owatonna Hospital
OWATONNA, Minn. 02/14/2008--Friends and relatives no longer have to wait on the postal service to see “new arrivals” born at Owatonna Hospital thanks to a new online web nursery offered by Owatonna Hospital. Every baby page features the newborn’s photo, birth statistics, information about the origin of the baby’s name, interesting “this day in history” information and more.
Each baby page also includes a baby book that allows parents to email the news and print the pages for keepsakes, as well as allows visitors to sign the baby book and write online notes of congratulations.
“This new web feature gives parents the option to announce the birth of their child to family and friends worldwide within hours of the birth,” said Molly Urness, RN and Birth Center manager at Owatonna Hospital. To ensure patient privacy, no last names appear on the website.

The new Owatonna Hospital will be connected to the current Owatonna Clinic-Mayo Health System 26th Street location, off Interstate 35, creating a health care campus. The facility will be designed to create an environment for providing high quality, safe, patient-centered care for residents in the region.
Owatonna Hospital and Allina Hospitals & Clinics are taking a leadership role to promote healthy eating and physical activity through their heart healthy living and obesity initiatives with an emphasis on childhood obesity. Over the next five years, Allina and Owatonna Hospital will be working with community organizations to improve nutrition and increase physical activity to decrease obesity and improve heart health.
