OWATONNA, Minn. 06/01/2010--Owatonna Hospital is offering its second free Sleep Study and Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) Seminar Tuesday, June15 from 7 – 8 p.m. at the Owatonna Hospital’s Vision Conference Room (1489).

Registered sleep lab technician monitors patient sleeping.

Heather Krenke, registered sleep lab technician, privately monitors a patient’s sleep patterns in an adjacent room during an overnight sleep study at Owatonna Hospital’s Sleep Lab. Krenke monitors brain waves, eye movements, air flow, snoring, breathing effort, leg movements, heart rate and oxygen levels.

Men and women are invited to join certified sleep professionals with the Owatonna Hospital Sleep Lab to learn about the signs and symptoms of sleep disorders, medical concerns associated with sleep disorders, what’s involved with an in-home screening or in-lab studies, and the differences in testing facilities.

In addition, Owatonna Hospital has added an online photo tour providing viewers a glimpse into what’s involved with a sleep study and what the sleeping rooms look like.

Representatives from Allina Home Oxygen & Medial Equipment will be present to review the latest in treatment technology. The class is FREE, and space is limited to the first 30 who register by calling 507-977-2190.
