Allina’s Unity Hospital offers peripheral vascular disease screening
FRIDLEY, Minn. 08/20/2009--Unity Hospital’s Wellness Program is offering peripheral vascular disease (PVD) screenings for $10 Thursday, Sept. 3, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the hospital located at 550 Osborne Road.
Screening takes about 30 minutes and includes a risk factor questionnaire, an ankle-brachial index measurement, review of results, education and physician referral if necessary.
Common symptoms of PVD include frequently rubbing legs to relieve pain, or sitting down often because it hurts to walk.
Participants should wear comfortable clothing and footwear that is easily removed.
