Public to get first glimpse of Allina's new Owatonna Hospital
OWATONNA, Minn. 09/25/2009--Steele County residents will have an opportunity to see how the new Owatonna Hospital, part of Allina Hospitals & Clinics, was designed to create a new patient experience and improve patient outcomes during tours at the hospital’s Community Open House Saturday, Oct. 3 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., 2250 NW 26th Street.
"The new hospital is a reflection of the community members, patients, physicians and staff who participated in its design and construction. We’re pleased to be able to share it through this open house celebration," said Dave Albrecht, president, Owatonna Hospital. "We invite everyone in the community to be a part of this celebration."
The day will include self-guided tours and light refreshments. Visitors can park in the hospital and clinic visitor parking lots (parking is limited).
"The opening of the new hospital is a strong statement of our commitment to providing superior health care to the community," said Steve Shurts, chair of the Owatonna Hospital board of trustees.
The new facility, which is scheduled to open at 7 a.m., Friday, Oct. 16, was built using evidence-based design principles to reduce the potential for errors, improve patient and staff safety, minimize stress and fatigue, increase efficiency and improve patient outcomes.
The new 136,000 square foot hospital has 38 beds, a 24-7 emergency care center with 12 private treatment rooms, four surgical suites and technology throughout. For more information about the move, go to www.owatonnahospital.com and select "Owatonna Hospital Move: What You Need to Know."
