Allina.com wins Web Health Award
Minneapolis 09/09/2005--
The Health Information Resource Center (HIRC) has recognized Allina.com for providing some of the Internet's best health information.
A panel of international health and Internet experts gave Allina.com a bronze award for excellence in content that helps people stay healthy or prevent injury and disease. Judges commended the site for its "good range of information and tools."
A community service of Allina Hospitals & Clinics, Allina.com competed with the Web sites of other health care systems in the HIRC's Spring/Summer 2005 World Wide Web Health Awards Program.
"We work hard to provide current and accurate information that helps our patients and their families learn about their health and live healthy lives," says Paul Kleeberg, MD, Allina.com's medical director.
The World Wide Web Health Awards offers a "seal of quality" for electronic health information. The program is an extension of the HIRC's 12-year old National Health Information Awards (NHIA). The largest program of its kind in the United States, the NHIA annually evaluates more than 1,100 entries from hundreds of organizations.
The Health Information Resource Center (HIRC) is a national clearinghouse for consumer health programs and materials.
Allina.com offers reliable health and wellness information, physician referral and other health resources, especially for people in communities served by Allina Hospitals & Clinics.
